Downtown Los Angeles’ Corey Helford Gallery is proud to announce The Return of The London Police, the next major solo show from world-renown British graffiti/street art collective The London Police, opening on Saturday, June 29th in Gallery 2.
Influenced by Los Angeles’ film industry, The London Police (Chaz Barrisson and Bob Gibson) have created all new works mixing their signature styles with classic images of their favorite movie stars and scenes from those blockbuster movies that excited them growing up.
Regarding their new show, TLP shares: “The London Police are returning once more to Corey Helford Gallery in Los Angeles for another installment in our artistic adventures painted all around the world. Influenced by L.A.’s film industry, we have selected an all-star cast of heroes and villains like Bruce Lee, The Ghostbusters, Bobba Fett and others, added our own blend of TLP characters with splashes of colour and architectural landscapes, to produce a vibrant and nostalgic series of movie-based compositions. As well as illustrative portraits of well-known box office stars, we have also produced canvases of our own fantasy films. All themed on the type of motion pictures we watched growing up and the posters that inspired 80’s and 90’s cinema.
The new paintings hope to entertain you with enjoyable and positive images, in full technicolor, that tell simple stories about the subjects within.
In a time where politics and social climates are constantly causing opinionated debates and division amongst the masses, we have chosen to relieve you from anymore preaching about what you should be doing and thinking. Simply come and enjoy the show for what it is: colours, characters, craftsmanship and movie culture.”
Opening night for The Return of The London Police is Saturday, June 29 from 7pm-11pm in Gallery 2, alongside the Hello Kitty® 45th Anniversary Group Show in the Main Gallery and a four-artist show, entitled Art of Character, featuring boutique solos by Andrew Brandou, Bennett Slater, Jim McKenzie, and Ramiro Davaro-Comas in Gallery 3. The gallery is located at 571 S. Anderson St. Los Angeles, CA 90033 and normal hours are Tuesday – Saturday, from 12pm - 6pm.
About The London Police:
The London Police started in 1998, when two big English geezers headed to Amsterdam to help rejuvenate the visually disappointing streets of Hollands capital. They were part of a small group of artists at the end of the last century that helped pioneer a new street art movement.
After a few years of mixing traveling and making art in the street, The London Police began to receive worldwide recognition for their contribution to the graffiti/street art movement. They were included in books documenting the scene and have been invited to shows all over the globe. Over the last 20 years, The London Police have amassed more than 100 shows and events (in over 35 countries) and they have murals all over the world, including: Hong Kong, Mexico, UK, Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Norway, Japan, Georgia, Denmark, Sweden, U.S., Colombia, and more. Notable collectors include famous actors and musicians, plus the King of Morocco.
The duo consists of Chaz Barrisson (who draws the iconic “LADS” characters) and Bob Gibson (whose tight portrait and architectural illustrations help marry the two styles to create an endearing, exciting fantasy world). Since 2009, The London Police have concentrated on more intense canvas work, bigger solo shows, and largescale mural projects.
The duo has managed to form a partnership more cohesive than Han Solo and Chewbacca (Star Wars) and are continuing to produce slick artwork that is tighter than a butlers cuff.

Corey Helford Gallery (CHG) was first established in 2006 by Jan Corey Helford and her husband, television producer and creator, Bruce Helford (The Conners, Anger Management, The Drew Carey Show, George Lopez) and has since evolved into one of the premier galleries of New Contemporary art. Its goals as an institution are the support and growth of young and emerging, to well-known and internationally established artists.
CHG represents a diverse collection of international artists, primarily influenced by today’s pop culture and collectively encompassing style genres such as New Figurative Art, Pop Surrealism, Neo Pop, Graffiti and Street Art.
