Los Angeles, CA (March 20, 2020) – Light In The Attic is incredibly excited to announce the first-ever reissue of Hiroshi Yoshimura’s masterpiece GREEN. Originally released in 1986, GREEN is one of Yoshimura's most well-loved recordings and a favorite of the Japanese ambient pioneer himself. Meant to convey “the comfortable scenery of the natural cycle known as GREEN,” as Yoshimura explains in the original liner notes, GREEN is a timeless body of work whose calming sounds feel more relevant today than ever, especially in light of the fears and uncertainties we face during these unprecedented times.
The long-awaited reissue marks the first time the highly sought-after and impossible to find album is reissued in any format. This edition features the original mix preferred by Yoshimura himself (previously available only on the initial Japanese vinyl release) and it’s the first release on the WATER COPY imprint, a collaboration with Yoshimura’s estate focusing on the works of Hiroshi Yoshimura. GREEN is available now on digital streaming platforms. In stores Summer 2020, the CD, LP, and cassette formats are available now for pre-order at the Light In The Attic online store, where a free download of the album will be offered with all online purchases. “Transparent Green” color vinyl edition will be available exclusively from the LITA online store; “Clear” vinyl edition will be available exclusively from Bull Moose, HHV, and Zia Records; and the "Clear+Green” color vinyl edition will be available exclusively at other physical and online retailers.
The “SFX Version” with added nature sounds, originally released only on CD on Sona Gaia Productions, will be available for streaming Summer 2020.

More about Hiroshi Yoshimura:
Barely known outside of his home country during his lifetime, the late Japanese ambient music pioneer Hiroshi Yoshimura has seen his global stature rise steadily in the past few years. The 2017 reissue of Yoshimura’s lauded debut, Music For Nine Post Cards (released on Spencer Doran and Maxwell August Croy’s Empire of Signs label), his inclusion on the Grammy-nominated Kankyō Ongaku: Japanese Ambient, Environmental & New Age Music 1980-1990 compilation, and a slowing building cult internet following has helped ignite a renaissance in his acclaimed body of work, much of which has never been released outside of Japan. Known for his sound design and environmental music, Yoshimura was a member of the legendary sound-art ensemble Taj Mahal Travellers and following the 1982 release of Nine Post Cards he worked on a number of commissions, including works for museums, galleries, public spaces, TV shows, video art, fashion shows, and even a cosmetics company. He passed away in 2003, leaving behind a lasting legacy that includes some of the most influential ambient and environmental music committed to tape.
